Whenever I buy carrots, it’s always in abundance. I love them sauteed, in soup, grilled with chicken. I also love it sweet, so I decided to make Carrot Halwa this weekend just in time the last bit of chocolate fudge vanished from fridge. It’s so easy to make Carrot Halwa and the ingredients are so simple that they’re always found in your kitchen. Ingredients: 2 cups of grated carrots 2 cups of milk 1 cup of sugar 1/2 tsp salt 2 tablespoon of ghee 1/4 cup raisins and nuts (cashew,...

This is not a wobbly egg custard pie, it’s firm but really delicious. I swear I could have eaten the entire pie if I wasn’t thinking of sharing it to my husband and my dogs, but still I ate two-thirds of the pie before my husband arrived from work. I made the pie dough one day before and just put it freezer. Then, I blind baked the pie crust 2 hours before I made the fillings, just enough time to let the pie crust cool before pouring the filling in. A. Prepare the Dough Ingredients: 3...

I got this recipe of Ricotta Kebab with Zucchini Carpaccio from Chef Sumeet Priyadarshi when I attended Four Seasons Wine Love, Cook and Learn event in The Pink Poppodam in Hotel Ista  and he showed us how to cook this dish. This ricotta kebab is very delicate, mild and cheesy, and it’s easy to make. Ricotta Kebab on a bed of Zucchini Carpacio Serves 4 Ingredients For the Kebab 200 g Ricotta Cheese 300 g Hung Yoghurt 200 g Fresh Paneer 2 tsp Roasted Chili Flakes 1 tsp Fennel seeds 1 tbs Fresh...

Stuffed Chicken Breast I love cooking (and eating!) chicken breast because (a) it’s healthy, and (b) it’s so flexible to cook. Most of the time, I buy chicken breast pieces and store them in my freezer for a couple of weeks. Though it’s the most expensive cut of the chicken, it’s the most flexible to cook. I can make minced chicken anytime or cut then into cubes or even strips, or flatten them to grill or breaded. Whenever I get time, I try some recipes I find online, though...

chocolate custard topped with strawberries Before summer officially comes, strawberry season must precede, and I must horde boxes of strawberries to be stocked in the fridge and to be eaten all throughout the day. Though strawberry-and-cream is classic and one cannot have enough, I thought of other ways to consume strawberries. I know that chocolate and strawberries go well together so I recently prepared Chocolate Custard topped with fresh Strawberries. I can tell you that it was divine and a perfect...

Stir-fry Chicken and Rice Noodles Salad After a weekend indulgence of fatty and sweet food, I decided to prepare something healthy. I checked my recipe book for salads, Good Eating Salads, which I bought several months ago, and found Chinese Chicken Salad which ingredients I had at home, though I had to tweak some a little bit, so I called mine, Stir Fry Chicken and Rice Noodles salad. On Monday evening, a bowl of delicious and healthy Stir Fry Chicken and Rice Noodles salad was my treat to myself. Cooking...

When I first saw Del Monte Fiesta Fruit Cocktail in the grocery shelf 3 years ago, I immediately bought one and tried the recipe a friend gave me. She called it Fruit Cocktail Float, but I want to call it Fiesta Fruit Cocktail Float because when I eat it, it’s like fiesta in my mouth, with all the fruits and the creamy, sweet sauce and the soft, chewy biscuit, oh boy, you will just love the texture and taste of this dessert and it’s so easy as 1-2-3! I usually prepare this dessert whenever...
